The Quiz activity enables your trainers to design and build quizzes consisting of a large variety of question types, including multiple choice, true-false, and short answer questions. Review the guidance on this page for the steps involved in completing a Quiz and reviewing them for feedback and grades.

Please note that not all question types display well on small mobile devices, so we recommend undertaking a Quiz on a Desktop or Tablet.

Quizzes may be used in your units for various different purposes such as:

You will receive a score for the quizzes you complete, and will often be able to access feedback. The score you receive may or may not contribute to your overall mark grade for the module. The Quiz could unit. The quiz could be timed, contain randomised questions or be completed once or many times. All these settings are according to your course – so when taking Quiza quiz, make sure you follow the instructions.

Attempt a quiz

  1. Go to the quiz activity inside a unit.

  1. Check the plagiarism statement and click on Start attempt.

  1. Answer all the questions.

You can navigate to different questions from the right menu.

  • You can flag a question for reference if you like.

  • If the quiz has many questions, they could be spread into various pages, click Next page and Previous page to navigate.

  • After you have completed the quiz, click on Finish attempt. You will then be given the overview if you have missed to answer any question.

You can click on the question numbers to return and answer those questions.

  • Click on Submit attempt if you are sure to submit.

Reviewing a Quiz

  • After submitting the attempt, you can review it for feedback right after.

  • But if you need to review it later, you can do so by navigating to the quiz, clicking on it and you get the option to review it.

You can click on Review button next to the attempt number to review that particular attempt.

You have now successfully learned how to attempt and review a quiz.

Note

Note: Some quizzes in Moodle are counted towards your competency for the unit. In that case you will only have 3 attempts for the quiz. Hence it is important that you use the 3 attempts wisely and consult your trainer before using the final attempt.
